Mario Cuomo was a perennial audience favorite in the 92Y Talks series, and the feeling was mutual. "He saw this place as his home,” recalls Susan Engel, director of 92Y Talks. “He shared our passion for creating a haven for civic dialogue, and though he wasn’t Jewish, he understood the principle of tikkun olam — that we have a collective responsibility to heal the world.” Cuomo always relished the opportunity to speak at 92Y, and he gave some most memorable speeches on our stage.
